Exciting thing NUMBER 1: THE SNOW (ish) QUEEN

I'm very lucky to mentoring, dramaturg-ing and directing the shiny star that is HELENA ASCOUGH. Helena is an emerging spoken word artist and we have been commissioned by Frontline Arts Festival (thanks ACE and Unlimited) to make a short solo spoken word show. Helena is exploring The Snow Queen story from the perspective of an artist who is albino and visually impaired.

Thank you to Garry Cook at Lancashire Fringe Festival for supporting Helena's first show, and asking me to run the Performance Poetry CPD workshop where I got to meet Helena.

Exciting thing NUMBER 2: Associate Artist at Wigan STEAM

I've hooked up with Wigan STEAM to provide a base for Ink Inc. which is a new group in Wigan for writers aged 12-18. STEAM is the perfect base because we get to network with other artists and I'm looking forwards to making some interdisciplinary projects where our young people get to make films and animations and graphic design their work.
First session on Mon September 9th!
