May 2019
I have become poet-in-residence at Lily Lane Primary School, Moston, Manchester. It's amazingly good.
So far:
-----Year 2 have found an alien in the library, complete with slime and we’ve written some poems about it.
-----Year 4 and their parents have been working on Mystery At The Museum and we created some immense character poems for the suspects.
-----The Eco Committee have been exploring the idea that birds don’t have borders and have written in poems in collaboration with Marsden Junior school, Huddersfield.
-----A large group of children wrote poems for and performed at Marsden Cuckoo Festival.
-----I’ve set up a branch of Ink Inc. a lunch time poetry club for Y5 and we’re having a lot of fun reading poems, discussing poetry, writing poetry and learning the best ways to perform our work.
A huge thanks to Write Out Loud, The Poetry Village Marsden and mostly Julia Clark- the head at Lily Lane Primary for being so keen to support reading, writing and public speaking at school
